About Our Club

Local runners formed a club in the Wausau area called the Wausau Area Runners Club (WARC). The club will pursue several goals that can be best summed up by the club’s mission statement.

Mission Statement: "To promote running and fitness for runners of all ages and abilities through fellowship, education, and formal and informal running events."

Several methods are employed to support the club’s mission:

1. Weekly training runs.
2. Monthly, club sponsored speakers on topics ranging from injury prevention to training tips to health benefits of running. These sessions are open to the public and are given by local health care professionals.
3. Monthly, club member meetings to discuss club topics.
4. Quarterly newsletter.
5. Club sponsored running/walking events.
6. Club sponsored website promoting fitness education and local running/walking events.
